Please take a moment to review the Guest Policies and Cabin Rules that you signed and agreed to when making your reservation. This document and the numerous e-mails received prior to arrival will give you the guidelines to ensure an enjoyable and memorable stay, as well as avoiding the possibility of violating your signed rental agreement and being charged additional fees. We strongly recommend that you share these guidelines with all members of your party for a more enjoyable stay.

As a friendly reminder, there is a $150 Cabin Rental Authorization/Deposit required on all cabins; this is just a hold on your card and not an actual charge. The authorization will only be converted to a sale/charge if the staff has documented and confirmed the Guest Policies and Cabin Rules were not followed. We simply ask our guests to be courteous and respectful of the home and the surrounding area of the cabin they are renting. To avoid having any part or all of your deposit forfeited we have laid out some reasonable expectations which you agree to when making your reservation. Basically, just “Carry in-Carry out,” so whatever you carry into the cabin you should carry out when you depart. All garbage and unused food items accumulated during your stay be removed from the cabin and/or taken to the dumpster located on the property. Do not leave garbage scattered inside and outside the cabin being rented. Wash the kitchen items/dishes used during your stay. The Getaway reserves the right to charge for any additional damage, cost of repair, cleaning, or other additional expenses that result from your non-compliance with the Guest Policies and Cabin Rules.
The final payment will be automatically charged to the card on file before 12pm the day before arrival. Unless other arrangements are made and agreed to in writing by the Getaway, the guest hereby authorizes The Getaway to charge the final payment due to the guest’s credit card on file. If the credit card is declined and an alternate payment method is not provided before 12pm, this will constitute the failure to have a credit card on file to make the final payment in accordance with The Getaway’s Guest Policies and Cabin Rules and the reservation will be subject to automatic cancellation and your initial deposit will be forfeited. It is the guest’s responsibility to notify and contact the Getaway with an updated credit card three days or more prior to arrival if their credit card is compromised to avoid the possibility of automatic cancellation and your initial deposit being forfeited.
Unfortunately, we are unable to take any form of payment from anyone other than from the name on the reservation.
Upon timely receipt of the final deposit and acceptance of the Guest Policies and Rules, which guest(s) sign and agree when booking cabin(s) online, the reservation is confirmed. After the final payment is made, an e-mail will be sent with the authorization and instructions on how to check into the cabin; please check your junk e-mail, sometimes the e-mail goes there.
Reservations must be rescheduled or cancelled at least twenty-one (21) days prior to the reservation start date or your initial deposit will be forfeited. This policy also applies to any reservation made within 21 days of arrival date.
There is a $50 reschedule fee if new dates are received and receipt confirmed by The Getaway 21 days or more prior to the scheduled arrival date. If cancellation is received at least twenty-one (21) days prior to the reservation start date, payment is fully refundable, less a $50 cancellation fee. All refunds will be issued by check and mailed to the address we have on file. All reservations are non-transferable.
Reservations will be held until 9:00 a.m. the morning following the scheduled arrival date. If the guest has not checked in by that time, the initial deposit required at the time of booking will be forfeited, and an additional $150 loss of rent fee will be charged, and the balance of the reservation will be cancelled.
All guests have the option to purchase travel insurance through a third party when booking online. The option to purchase travel insurance is offered again when the reservation is confirmed.
Stay more, get more: Valid year-round. Stay 6 nights , get the 7th night FREE! Must stay in same cabin for all nights, lower rates apply.
Stay and Play for the Weekday Special: Stay 3 nights, get the 4th night for $150. Valid for consecutive nights, Monday to Thursday in same cabin. Promotion not offered during summer and holiday's. Dates excluded in Summer are from Monday after Father’s Day, which is the third Sunday in June, to Monday before Labor Day, which is the first Sunday in September; dates excluded for Holiday’s are for the 4- night minimum on reservations during Thanksgiving, Christmas or New Year’s Eve/Day.

Feel free to bring things from home for your own personal comfort, perhaps your special bedtime pillow, some throws or wraps to cuddle by the outdoor fire pits and some lawn chairs to sit outside.
Please feel free to bring your own movies and board games for a more enjoyable stay.
For our nighttime explorers, bringing a flashlight would provide more light.
To get you started we have provided a garbage bag and some paper towels. It is recommended that you bring extras of these items to use during your stay.
Lastly, don't forget the ice for your drinks - there is a store right up the road from us that sells large bags for your convenience.
Each cabin has a VCR/DVD combo. For your convenience Red Box rental boxes are located at Shaw's Grocery store in Lancaster and Dollar General in Whitefield to rent DVD movies.
Don't worry about bringing firewood; we sell it right here on the main property at two locations for your convenience. Bring cash and leave your payment in one of the cash boxes which are located either in front of the office or by the firewood lean to located to the left when pulling into the main property. If you do not have cash, send us an e-mail and tell us how many bundles you took and we can charge the card on file. To help start your fire, we recommend bringing some newspaper from home.
We highly recommend that you bring your pet's bedding with you for their comfort. This will also decrease the chance of accumulating pet hair on the cabin's furniture or bedding and being charged a fee.
Of course, we expect dog owners to pick up after them and dispose of waste in the marked containers around the property. So don't forget to pack those doggie bags!
Leashes are required.
Once you book your stay, you will be directed to our complete pet policies and agreement.
